Emery D. Luse, 78, of Rt. 6, Crawfordsville, died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Home Hospital at Lafayette. Mr. Luse, a retired Farm Bureau employe, was a member of the Methodist Church at Mount Vernon. He was a 32nd degree Mason at Linden Lodge 691. Mr. Luse was a graduate of New Richmond High School. A Benton County native, he was born Dec. 28, 1889, a son of Albert and Malessie (Clarkson) Luse. His first marriage was to Hazel Burk. He later was wed to Helen Barton at Covington. Surviving are the widow; a daughter, Mrs. William Affolder of Vincennes; a sister, Mrs. Ora Davis of Danville, Ill., and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons and two brothers. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Hunt and Son Funeral Home with Rev. John Servies and Rev. Lester Wright officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may pay respects at the funeral home. Masonic rites will be held at the funeral home at 8 p.m. today. The family requests donations to the Heart Fund in lieu of flowers. – jlr
